June Wish List

In my eyes June is one of the most exciting months of the year. It signifies the OFFICIAL start of the British summer. The days get longer and lighter, and everyone seems to have a little more spring in their step! This wishlist includes a good dose of summery bits and pieces, and will hopefully get you all excited for the summer season.

To Visit:

Lake Bled, Slovenia

As previously mentioned, my wonderful friend Bex and I have booked a trip to Ljubljana, Slovenia for the end of the month. Although we will be staying in the capital, Lake Bled is at the top of our must see list whilst we are there. I am very excited to explore a country I have never been to before, especially with one of my greatest friends by my side!

To See:

Jurassic World

The trailer for this looks insane, and although I am not a HUGE fan of the old Jurassic films, I think this one could be one of those must see summer blockbusters. Also, Chris Pratt stars, need I say more?!

To Eat:

Miyagi, Bold Street, Liverpool

Bold Street is brimming with independent eateries, and Miyagi is the latest newbie on the block. It prides itself on specialising in "Asian comfort food, served to a Motown soundtrack". I mean, good food and good music, what more could you ask for? Take a virtual tour of the new restaurant in this Echo article & check them out on twitter

To Read:

Everyday Sexism

Once exams are finally over, I am looking forward to putting together a reading list of books that I want to read and not study! Top of my list is this revolutionary book by Laura Bates, which is written by a young journalist and documents her protest against inequality.

To Buy:

Fruity Bedding

I have been lusting over all sorts of fruity designs over on Pinterest recently. From Beyonce & Dirty Dancing inspired watermelon prints to clementine serving plates, there is a distinctly fruity theme to my wish list board. Another item fitting neatly into this category is this wonderful strawberry bedding. I love the colourful and sweet design. Perfectly fitting the British strawberry season!

To Wear:

Peanut Butter Sweatshirt

I adore this sweater, and in a library induced state ordered myself one last week and cannot wait for it to arrive. The vibrant colour is perfect for the summer, and I am hoping to pair it with some black denim shorts and strappy sandals!

To Cook:

Watermelon & Mozzarella Salad

This doesn't technically involve any cooking as such, however I think this summery dish will pair perfectly with a light summer dinner, served alongside a barbecue or enjoyed as the component to a bountiful picnic.

To Bake:

Granola Crusted Yoghurt Fruit Tart

Quite a mouthful that one! But how gloriously colourful and summery does this tart look?! This tart would be great served at a brunch gathering, or as a light dessert following an al fresco dinner party.

To Drink:

Pimm's Strawberry & Pimm's Cider Cup

Pimm's have recently launched two new lines, just in time for the British barbecue season. I am itching to try the Pimm's strawberry flavour. Summer wouldn't be summer without an ice cold glass of Pimm's at the weekend. I am slightly more skeptical about the cider cup, but am willing give it a try in the name of Britishness!

I am going to be flaunting my new sweatshirt everywhere once it arrives. I am little concerned about it attracting bugs though!
