Ouzoud Waterfalls // Moroccan Adventures

On our second day in Morocco, Emma and I decided to take a day trip to Ouzoud falls. We had heard lots of good things about the waterfalls, and were eager to take a look at them ourselves.

Following a 2.5 hour bus journey from Marrakech, we arrived at the National Park which the waterfalls call home. Along with the rest of our group, we set out on a trek across the park, led by our guide, Muhammad.

Our first proper photo opp came in the shape of a few rickety bridges over some of the smaller waterfalls. Undeterred by the gushing waters, we got to posing!

Our next stop off was at another small waterfall. The braver ones among us jumped straight in, whilst the rest of us dipped our feet in and paddled, relieved to have some cold water splashing us!

Setting off again, we turned a corner to see the magnificent grand waterfall. There is something really mesmerising about a waterfall, especially one of this scale.

Our guide urged us to jump on one of the 'boats' to take a closer look. Although slight apprehensive, we braved it!

Despite the beauty of the waterfalls, the highlight of the trip for me had to be seeing wild monkeys. I have loved monkeys ever since I saw them at Woburn Safari Park, and being able to see them playing about in their natural habitat was really something.
