This Weeks Happiness List

Following the family fun and frivolities of the Easter weekend, this week has comprised of working and seeing old school friends. Also, the sun has been out for most of the week, which has been amazing when I have been able to get outside, but not so ideal when I am doing shifts at M&S food hall, which is nicely positioned in the basement away from the natural light. Hey ho, at least I am not being teased by the sight of the sun streaming through the windows!

So here is my happiness round up from the week that was-

1. Having our first family BBQ of the year on Easter Monday. The day was gloriously warm, my sister Kitty and I took a stroll into town, before returning home for a spot of sunbathing followed by an al fresco BBQ dinner. I made my tabbouleh salad & a green bean salad as sides, and we enjoyed a concoction of BBQ'd goodies and fresh sides. It really was the best way to spend a bank holiday Monday!

2. Reigniting my love for reading. Granted, I study English Literature and Philosophy so spend a sizeable majority of my time reading, however I have been neglecting reading as a hobby for a while now, mainly due to said reading for my course! Recently I have been re-reading the HP series, and have just started The Prisoner of Azkaban after searching the house high and low, I finally found it in my younger brothers room. I have also started reading Shelley's Frankenstein this week, which I have never read before. I am enjoying the novel so far, especially the changing styles from epistolary to prose.

3. Seeing my school friends and celebrating Steph turning 21 on Tuesday evening. I love coming back home and getting to spend time with my friends, it always feels like we have never been away from one another, which I believe is a real sign of true friendship!

4. Pinning everything and anything on Pinterest. I got on board the Pinterest train very late a few weeks ago, and now I can get off of it! This week I made a new board 'Wish List' which is a jumble of things I have seen which I would love to get my hands on, including summery clothes, crockery and jewellery.

5. Having that Friday feeling. As an arts student, I rarely get that feeling any more, mainly due to not being in lectures all day everyday, but also because when assignments are nearing the weekend blurs into the week in terms of studying. After working at M&S all day Friday, I truly had that Friday feeling as I boarded the bus, arriving home to Molly preparing dinner followed by a night in front of the telly watching Gogglebox.

Cheers to the weekend!

  4. Hurrah I'm so glad you found "Prisoner of Azkaban"!!! :D

Your BBQ sounds lush as well. We had one this Sunday just gone and I totally didn't even think about making a salad. Tabbouleh is being pinned (again) for the next one though! :) xx
